La Rentrée 2021

The global pandemic continues, and whether we are aware of it or not, our nervous systems are suffering from a collective anxiety. The impacts of the pandemic run deep and far, but I firmly believe that a regular somatic practice is a fundamental cornerstone to helping our bodyminds navigate this challenging time.

Suffering from restrictions and stress, we need to drop into our present sensations, rather than run from them, which may be the tempting option… move, feel, repeat. We cannot block out a screaming nervous system.

So, let us move. And be with loved ones – friends, family, that smiling face you might meet unexpectedly during your day. Feel the connection with the body, with others.

From a  Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, we are in the last days of the earth element / Indian summer(stomach and spleen meridians,) and just about to drop into metal element /autumn (lung and large intestine meridians). The TCM-informed movement practice that I offer, focuses at this time of the year on movement awareness and self-massage designed to nourish these meridians. Self-care is paramount to nourishing the immune system and the nervous system and clearly so important given the global perspective.

In addition to the usual online Monday night class (19H30 – 20H30), I am thrilled to be able to offer, for the first time since last year, a weekly in-person (and Zoom simultaneously) class near my home at 10, rue des Coteaux, Verrières Le Buisson, on Wednesdays 9H15 – 10H30. For those that can’t attend in person, they can participate by Zoom.

I am available for individual classes, and shiatsu at my home studio in Verrières Le Buisson.

My classes offer movement and self-massage informed by TCM, Polyvagal theory, biotensegrity, neurodevelopmental movement and the Dynamic Yoga Training Method. They consist of accessible, repetitive movements involving rolling, shaking, and sometimes the stillness of classical yoga posture. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to know more or if you have any questions 06 10 89 76 04.

Hope to see you soon!
